As you grow older you may less energy from what you eat, but getting nutrients from your food is still important. And although that’s important, many seniors stop eating because they say “It’s hard to cook” “I’m just not that hungry” or “Food just doesn’t taste the same anymore.” But our seniors still need to eat to stay healthy. And not only does that food need to be good for them, it needs to be accessible and affordable too.
In this show registered dietitian Jon Vredenburg with the City of Jacksonville explains the importance of certain nutrients to maintain good health late in life. Jon also provides solutions for grocery shopping in order to provide that good quality nutrition for our seniors that are on a budget.
